Google Adwords and Yahoo PPC Campaign Management
Pay per click (PPC) is a search engine advertising model (e.g. Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing) also used on web sites which contain advertising, where the advertiser only pays when a user actually clicks on an ad to visit the advertiser's web site (called a "clickthrough"). The prospective advertisers bid on keywords they predict their target market will use as search terms when looking for a product or service the advertiser has to offer.
In the context of search engine marketing, when a user types a keyphrase query which matches within the advertiser's keyword list, the advertiser's ad is displayed. These ads are called a "Sponsored link" or "sponsored ads" and appear next to or above the "natural" or organic results on search engine results pages.
SEO Technologies uses PPC as a supplementary program harnessed to our organic search engine optimisation campaigns.
The reason for this is that organic search engine optimisation generates higher click-throughs that paid ads, and represents better value for money. However, PPC can play an important role in the search engine marketing strategy we apply to our clients' campaigns.
For instance, if a client needs an immediate placement within search engine results pages, we will sometimes supplement our traditional SEO methods with a PPC Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing campaign while waiting for our seo and link building to take effect. Organic SEO can take up to three months to produce high search engine rankings, especially with brand new domains which have not been submitted to the search engines before.
In managing this process, we partner with the two PPC networks which have the highest market penetration on the Internet - Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing.

Google Adwords Campaign
AdWords ads are displayed along with search results on Google, as well as on search and content sites in the Google Network, including AOL, EarthLink, HowStuffWorks, & Blogger.
When you create an AdWords keyword-targeted ad, you choose keywords or keyphrases for which your ad will appear and specify the maximum amount you're willing to pay for each click. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad. The AdWords Discounter automatically reduces the actual CPC (cost-per-click) you pay to the lowest cost needed to maintain your ad's position.
When you create an AdWords placement-targeted ad, you choose the exact Google Network content sites where your ad will run and specify the maximum amount you're willing to pay for each click (CPC) or each thousand page views (CPM) on that site. You pay whenever someone views your ad. As with keyword-targeted ads, the AdWords Discounter automatically reduces the actual amount you pay to the lowest cost needed for your ad to win the placement on that page.

| Yahoo Search Marketing |
As with the Google model, ads for your business appear in search results on Yahoo! and other popular web sites within the Yahoo network.
You create an ad to appear in search results, choosing keywords related to the products or services your business sells, and decide the maximum amount you want to pay each time your ad is clicked.
When customers click your ad, they go to a page specified on your web site.
The major difference between Yahoo Search Marketing's model and Google Adwords is that with Yahoo, there is no minimum charge for the number of impressions the ad receives - the number of times the page carrying your ad appears to web searchers.
Though this is potentially more cost-effective, Google is the major search destination for web users world-wide, with the vast majority of searches performed.
This is offset to a degree for Australian users by the fact that Yahoo Search Marketing's ads are also carried on ninemsn, which is MSN's main portal for Australian web users, and on livesearch.
